Welcome to another fun filled year of learning at Yargo Elementary. Fourth grade is an exciting time. We have many new and interesting subjects to explore. Your children will be challenged throughout the year to be the best that they can be.
Responsibility is a highly valued character trait. We encourage each student to do his/her very best. Student conduct is one reason Yargo Elementary has been so successful. Each student is responsible for his/her own conduct. We provide an atmosphere that enables students to make good choices. Making good choices builds character. One of the things we wish to accomplish this year is to help your child learn to make the right choices.
The fourth grade brings with it more independent work. There will be homework several times a week. This will be in addition to work he/she does not finish in class. This helps to reinforce much of the new material that they are being exposed to each day. Your child will learn note-taking skills. They will receive notes a week in advance before a test. Your child is responsible for getting their assignment book signed every night. This helps keep you informed about things going on the classroom and helps them stay organized.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (770) 867-1147 or email me at [email protected]. I am looking forward to a great year with your child.
Sincerely,
Lauren McDougald
